MARY PEURA
Mary enjoys working in watercolors and oils, but has also done pastels. She has always enjoyed creating art and took commercial art courses in college. While living in Maryland and during a two-year stint in Saudi Arabia with her husband's career, she took classes in oil painting. After she and her family moved to Ste. Genevieve in 1987, she began seriously painting in watercolors with local artist Clare Condon. After retirement she began taking classes in the senior scholar program at Mineral Area College with Jim Wilson, which sparked her interest in returning to oils.
Mary has recently moved to Farmington to be with her son and his family, but continues to be active in the art community in Ste. Genevieve. She is a past-president of the Art Guild. |
