J RISSOVER
Jean Rissover began painting in 2011 following her retirement at age 70...her first real opportunity to study or create art since her senior year in high school, more than five decades earlier.
Since, she has won a number of awards in juried exhibitions and her work is included in several private collections. Virtually all of Rissover’s work is imaginative, what she refers to as depicting the lives "of the people who live in stories inside my head.” In addition to the Guild she is a member of the juried Visual Arts Cooperative in Cape Girardeau. Her work has been featured in a solo shows at the Chapel Gallery in St. Louis and at the SEMO Arts Council in Cape, and is on view at her gallery, •E•KleK•Tix, at 130 N. Main in Ste. Genevieve.
